Who we are

CBAMcheck is operated by Oportax Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Our contact email is hello@oportax.com.

What data we collect

  • Account information: your name, company name, work email address, and job role, as provided in the upload form.
  • Import data: the file you upload containing commodity codes, countries of origin, import values, weights, and supplier names.
  • Usage data: anonymised analytics including pages visited, features used, and session duration.

How we use your data

  • To generate your CBAM liability estimate and PDF report.
  • To send you the report by email, along with follow-up information about UK CBAM compliance.
  • To improve the accuracy and functionality of the tool.
  • To contact you about our compliance software, if you have opted in.

We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and, for marketing emails, your consent.

Data retention

We retain your submission data for 24 months from the date of upload. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@oportax.com.

Third parties

We use the following third-party services to operate CBAMcheck:

  • Supabase (EU region) — database and file storage
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Calendly — call scheduling
  • PostHog (EU region) — product analytics
  • Vercel — hosting

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your uploaded import data with anyone outside of CBAMcheck.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Request portability of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
